If you are
looking for a
good place to
ski this winter
then you really
need to look no
farther than the
Italian province
of Aosta and/or
the city that
bears it's name.
Well known
Italian resorts
that are located
in Italy's Aosta
Valley include,
but are not
limited to,
Plia,
Courmayeur, La
Thuile, Cervinia,
all of the
resorts included
in the Monterosa
Ski area and
many others.
And here's the
good news.
In very high
seasons in most
European Ski
countries and
Italy is no
exception,
accommodation is
very hard to
come by. We have
a suggestion
then if skiing
in Italy or some
other Italian
Winter Sport
venture is your
plan. Choose
Aosta or one of
the main resorts
in the Italian
province.
If you select
Aosta as your
Italian ski
destination
center, you may
ski in a variety
of different
resorts like the
ones listed
above, or indeed
you may ski in
Pila, the resort
closest to and
served by a lift
directly from
that city. Close
and convenient
is it not? Plus
it is within an
hour to such
well known
Italian Ski
names as
Courmayeur,
Cervinia, Monte
Rosa Ski and La
Thuile.
And guess what? A stay in the city of Aosta opens up plenty of different airport possibilities too. Try Milan, Turin or Geneva for starters. However you probably will have to rent a car whilst there. Local transport to any of these resort destinations is not likely to fit into your plans. By Bill Fogarty
